Extended Stay Options in Baton Rouge?

Ok so I am in the middle of selling my current house (close date is in a couple of weeks) and I have not yet found my next house. This means that I will be “homeless” for a month or so (maybe longer?). Where in Baton Rouge is a good place to stay for 30-45 days while I search, find and close on my next house? I don’t want to stay at the extended stay “hotel” on Corporate as I have been in those and they are just trashy. What other options do I have for a relatively short period of time? Budget wise, I’m ok with something in the $2000/month (or less) range.

just rent an apt for 6 months. Use the extra months you don't need for a stabbing cabin.

I was almost in this predicament 2 years ago. If I remember right the apartments on South Mall Dr. near where the movie theater used to be can be rented month to month with a 30 day minimum. Don't remember the price though.

if you will be out before school starts back up you could probably sublease from a student that won't be in town for the summer.

The thought of moving all of my crap up a flight of stairs (or two flights) into an apartment...only to move it back out and into a house 30 or so days later...just pisses me off before I even do it.

Embassy Suites or Homewood Suites. I have stayed in both.
