Anyone else hears these explosions? Sounds like maybe heavy fireworks or shite going down in BR. And it's not thunder nothing on radar suggest it is thunder.

When you say "BR area" are you referring to within the city limits or areas around BR as well? I am in Iberville Parish.. I didn't hear anything..

Speaking of this, does anyone remember.. It might have been in the late 80s when Exxon had a huge explosion? I was about.. maybe 25 miles South of Baton Rouge and it sounded like it happened down the street from me, I was 11-12 yrs old, but I remember the lights blinking.. My dad worked at Albemarle and I remember about a week later, he had taken vacation time, but had to go to work to do something so I went ride with him and there were homes around the area that had windows blown out, etc.

I heard it. Just before 9:30, near coursey and stumberg.

I thought maybe it was leftover fireworks but only heard one. GF said she heard several.

Curious how far away it could be heard

Fireworks in central were supposed to start at 9:30, so maybe the timing is right... Although I am 100% certain I heard the noise just before 9:30, and only heard one loud boom not a whole fireworks show.

Plus, I've gotta be 10-15 miles from there, could the sound travel that far?

I'm in Denham and now that some people said they were celebrating 10 years of freedom from BR, I supposed I heard that. Go back to bed children.
