ExxonMobil is not solely a refiner. Most of their earnings come for upstream development

I saw an article not long ago stating that facility was for sale and XOM was moving on.

Hard to make money in cali refining.

This I know. But the post we were responding to was implying cause/effect relating to the refinery explosion.

Its a shitty market to try and profit in. You pretty much have to run equipment beyond its original design (not saying that is wrong if properly evaluated) to break even.

Its a gorgeous area to visit but paying 10 cents for every brown bag at walmart was bullshite. Refining has got to be a lost cause monetarily.
