They were very precise, but not perfectly precise. There was variance of several thousands, as to be expected for work done by hand.
The tools they used to do the work were littered around the site. While the work is remarkable for what they had to to work with, it nothing that could not be done with primitive tools.

All of the ancient mysteries can be explained by 3 things:
1. People were way smarter back then than we give them credit for.
2. They had unlimited amounts of time with nothing else to do.
3. They had an over abundance of cheap labor (slaves).
