Plenty of native SCers go there; however, the school is about a 50/50 split of out of state and in state.
It is full of people from out of state who visited Myrtle Beach a lot in their lives and want to go to a party school.

This. Coastal has the weirdest mix of students I've ever seen. They're either Yankee guidos, surfer kids or redneck South Carolinians who grew up in Horry or Georgetown Counties.
