Deputies say Elvis Rhodes took two beers from a cooler sitting on the front porch of his son and daughter's home (Christopher and Elaina) while the were gone.

After an argument, the two told deputies Elvis tired to make good by walking to a nearby store to replace the beers he had taken, but when he returned with the beers and tried to talk to his son and daughter they refused to see him.

An enraged Elvis, 55, then allegedly grabbed a large pickaxe and tried to break into the home after his children locked themselves inside, deputies said. His fearful son then allegedly grabbed a shotgun from inside the home and fired it through the door.
