Elon Musk plans to shrink Twitter's staff by nearly 75% after his long-delayed deal to take over the company closes, according to the Washington Post, in a massive downsizing that threatens to impact user experience.

Musk reportedly informed prospective investors he plans to cut Twitter's workforce from 7,500 to around 2,000.

You’re fricking lying about that. I just said there’s no way this girl is surviving should society collapse unless she survives in the manner of the ladies of Mad Max. I think I’m pretty well known for making movie references around here. Blatant lie.

2000 is probably low. You don't understand what it takes to maintain and engineer a platform like that with as many users and the security implications.

However, he absolutely can reduce the headcount to that many people and it will be a dog eat dog world for cuts. Who wants a job? Who takes off the pink pussy hat and works? Who will work to provide their family? shite is about to get real again and it will be public which is AWESOME

I don’t care if Musk loses billions on Twitter. It’s worth it to see a bunch of progressives countards lose their way of life.

And he fired some people that he didn't even know

Yes we remember from last time they fired a bunch and it didn't matter.

quote:

Despite the high pay levels, however, only the very best make a significant difference to a company’s performance. Studies from as far back as 1968 have found that the best programmers produce code that runs up to 10 times faster than an alternative offered by an average yet experienced programmer.

Sometimes, according to Steve McConnell of Construx Software, one person can make all the difference. When he was at Boeing in the mid-1980s, he says, a critical project with 80 coders was near to missing its deadline. According to company lore, “they moved most of the 80 people off that project and brought in one guy who finished all the coding and delivered the software on time,” he says.

A complete waste of resources. Thousands of people pretending to work for what a handful actually do.
