Many of Nikola Tesla's ideas were over the top ridiculous and completely infeasible. He hyped up impossible ideas to promote himself. Tesla is internet overhyped.

It doesn’t need to be malicious to be against SEC rules. Incompetence or stupidity doesn’t get you a free pass

He looked like a 12 year smoking his first cigarette puffing in that blunt.

He owes Joe for wasting a good blunt

He’s still in. He doesn’t need to be chairman anyway. He is the visionary and needs good business leaders to get Tesla profitable.

People settle all the time in order to minimize publicity. They stood to lose a lot more than $40m if this escalated further.

I think it very well could have stock manipulation but it's subjective enough to where I would hesitate saying it was 100% for sure an attempt to manipulate the stock price.

Nikola Tesla was brilliant, but he was also a bull shitter. He was famous for it. His free wireless energy is the perfect example. That was never anything that could actually happen. There are at least a couple of other humorous stories including a con that he ran on a hotel owner to get out of a bill. You only betray your own ignorance with your flippant "wats." Just because he had a some great inventions doesn't make him an infallible god that you want to sell him as.

Nice to the politicizing of the SEC is complete. Let's not go after real criminals instead let go after a dumbass like Musk.

Ummmm yu have no clue what you are talking about. It was kind of a quick walk-off homerun win for the SEC. He tee'd it up for them to knock it out

cut and paste bc I'm lazy tonight:

quote:

"Musk tweeted on August 7, 2018 that he could take Tesla private at $420 per share — a substantial premium to its trading price at the time — that funding for the transaction had been secured, and that the only remaining uncertainty was a shareholder vote," regulators said on Saturday.

However, "in truth, Musk knew that the potential transaction was uncertain and subject to numerous contingencies. Musk had not discussed specific deal terms, including price, with any potential financing partners, and his statements about the possible transaction lacked an adequate basis in fact," they added.

On the day Musk made the surprise announcement, Tesla's stock surged by over six percent — catching off guard the bearish class of investors with whom the billionaire has crossed swords in the past.

I obviously don't know Elon Musk... but, it wouldn't be surprising if this whole thing was motivated by a competitor or government itself. One would imagine Musk understands SEC rules and wouldn't risk all at stake by violating in such a visible manner.

Suppose after Musk pumped up the stock with his $420 comment, you had decided to buy lots of stock. Still think he didn't do anything wrong?
