Local News Link

Incident at the Hospital. Base is locked down. MPs/SecFo as well as the local PD are swarming the place. Reports from multiple outlets are that the man had a gun and a knife. Pulled the gun but never fired a round. No injuries. Man disarmed and in custody. Also getting the same story via text from a co-worker who was at the hospital for an appt.

What the frick is wrong with people???

Luckily, it appears not. I have several buddies who work over there.

How do you want me to title it dick? We are on lockdown and going through active shooter procedures.

Rumors are that a few guy tackled the guy. But that's all we have right now is rumors.

ANCHORAGE -

Reports of shots fired at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, eventually found to be incorrect, caused every available Anchorage police officer to respond to the military base midday Friday, according to a police spokeswoman.
More from KTUU

JBER spokespersons declined to comment shortly after the police call-out during the noon hour Friday.

Police spokeswoman Renee Oistad said the initial reports to police were that an active shooter had opened fire on the base.

"That turned out not to be the case," Oistad said. "No shots fired, no injuries, none of that. They do have an individual in custody, but as far as the reasons for that, it’s up to the military to release that."

Every city police officer on duty who was not on a high-priority call responded to the call, Oistad said.

Yes. Good news.

Who knows what the guy's intent was. It's rumored that several guys took him down.
