Is it possible to make a female understand that using electricity at home costs money? Anyone who responds "show her a bill" ... understands the female brain even less than I do.

My house is responsible for 98.8% of our utility company's profits.

The best way I've found to explain kwh usage to the clueless goes like so:

8 cents is charged by power company for each kilowatt hour

100 watt light bulb burned continuously for 10 hours = 1 kilowatt hour = 8 cents

This is one of the things I love about my wife. She goes through the house cutting off lights more than I do. Our fight is the thermostat, I like 74... she like 79. Luckily, she goes to sleep before me, so I cut it down right before bed time, and it's back at 79 by the time I leave the house the next morning.

Actually this is pretty simple. Show her the electric meter outside. Explain how every time the dial completes a circle it costs money. The faster it spins, the more money it costs.

We have a joint checking account, so I can keep track of her insane spending habits. So I pay for her her ignorance when it comes to the E bill.

Until they pay the bill, they don't care.

No. To understand this concept requires one to use logic which is beyond the abilities of the human female mind.

My stepmom and her kids used to leave the AC ice cold all day and all of the lights on everywhere. My dad started making her pay for it, and now she follows people around turning lights off
