Much reported on tv.
Do you know which channels? Is it on YouTube?
I'd love to think Routh was some douche REMF, but I'd like some verification before I see that.

This guy never really stood a chance.

how do you get PTSD from going to Haiti?

Everything I've seen said he was an Iraq war veteran. May be my misunderstanding of what that means.

The U.S military confirmed on Sunday that 25-year-old Routh was a corporal in the Marines and served actively from 2006 to 2010. He was deployed to Iraq in 2007 and Haiti in 2010.

Dude had issues, no one wins from this...
Glad they went life without parole, there was no need for the death penalty in this case.

Kyle, Routh and Littlefield are all from my hometown, so it's hit the locals pretty hard.
To my understanding, he was an armorer that never left base while deployed. That was from some of the reporting we had locally. Google Waxahachie Daily Light... They have a ton of stuff on it.
I didn't realize it until last week that Routh graduated HS a year after me. Weird to think about.

Dude got convinced in Texas of killing a real American hero. How fast are they going to put him in an express lane to fry?

Glad they found him guilty. They weren't pursuing the death penalty so now hell rot in prison.
Good. frick him

Was never on the table. Life without parole was max sentence, which is what he got.
Posted on 2/24/15 at 9:46 pm to SCUBABlake
Yea, a little more research shows he went to Iraq but did not see combat.
Posted on 2/24/15 at 9:46 pm to SCUBABlake
Have they actually sentenced him yet?

I saw bits and pieces but an email I received had a link to a news article on this. This Routh guy was an armorer and never left safe compound in Iraq. He was sent to Haiti where he claimed to have been sent out to retrieve bodies from the earthquake. That was false. He went to Haiti but was an armorer. He never even saw a body.
People do not really know what ptsd is. Lawyers are blaming all kinds of acts on ptsd. Why did it just start? It didn't. My dad had ptsd from WWII. My neighbor, a Marine sniper, has ptsd. I know others that have it. Routh didn't.

Judge sentenced from the bench.
I'm sure they will appeal, but I don't think it engages an automatic appeal like the death penalty would.

Damn bro, I know you're some kind of pilot or whatever but you sound jelly.
Posted on 2/24/15 at 9:50 pm to TigerLicks
Erath is a tiny county... You know folks there getting jury summons knew what was coming. I'm honestly surprised they kept it there.
Also surprised at the way the jury ended up... 10 women and 2 men.

Have you ever been to Haiti? If so in what capacity?

Posted on 2/24/15 at 9:54 pm to tgrbaitn08
