I think the curfew is a good idea, but why now and not yesterday or the day before?

Makes no sense. They should just put a cop in front of neighborhoods that took water and not let people in.

Fyi, just got this email. I work for DPS&C

Due to the extreme flooding situation throughout parts of Louisiana, Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne is announcing that state government offices will be closed Wednesday, Aug. 17, in the following parishes: Acadia, Allen, Ascension, Assumption, Avoyelles, Cameron, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Vermilion, Washington, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana. These are different parishes than were closed Monday and today.

Essential personnel not dealing with personal flood damage or helping others should contact their supervisors.

State officials continue to monitor weather conditions across the state, and this announcement may be updated.

State employees should be aware of the following phone numbers to call, which will be updated with information regarding office closures: 1.800.360.9660 or 225.342.0498.

Wait a minute. Is this a curfew for people out in the Parish or what?

I am in the middle of the city and didn't see two inches of water. Are they telling me I am not supposed to go out drinking tonight past 10? What the hey?
