I would think that by the early 1900s most of that thinking would be gone.
Especially with something that although a major feat in human history, is quite simple... Thrust + lift = flight.

VERY RARE, and likely has mental issues.
I'm sure there were people that claimed demons, just doubt it was prevalent.
