A mum-of-four ‘dumped’ by her husband days after being paralysed by a stroke has found love again with the personal trainer who helped her recover.
Riona Kelly, 37, was left paralysed from the waist down following a spinal stroke and was told she would never walk again.
After just five days in hospital, she claims her husband Richard – who she had been with for 14 years – requested a divorce.
But the mum from Halifax, West Yorkshire, fought on, taking her first steps eight weeks later – and has since found love with her personal trainer, Keith Mason, 35.

Sounds like he motivated her to fight back and recover her life. He should be hailed as a hero.

So I read the whole article and you conveniently left this part out.
quote:
Riona’s ex-husband, Richard, said: “I told Riona I wanted a divorce the morning before her stroke, not whilst she was in hospital.
“Whilst she was in hospital I visited as much as I could of an evening, I had to take care of the children, look after the house and run a business.
“I lived in the house with Riona and the kids until last June before I eventually moved out, and we have now both moved on.”

That guy looks like a straight up douche personified. Is that the trainer or the ex?

That makes things completely different. It's like when you want to dump a chick and her mom dies.

Riona has since completed two marathons with the help of her wheelchair and former professional rugby league footballer, Keith.
Isn't that kind of like cheating?

The personal trainer was quoted as saying:
"Yeah, she is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. I love her. I really love
her. I'm gonna ask her to marry me. She's got everything I've always wanted in another human being.....except for the walking."
