Dumb question time. Do police carry life insurance?

When I was in the service, we carried SGLI. Term was either $100K or $200K. Is there anything similar for police? Honest question.

I thought almost all benefit packages in every profession had life insurance.

Not all. Some they only give small amounts, like $50k. Also, there's pretty much 0 companies that will offer accident insurance as well. One that covers on the job anyway.

Don't know when you were in the service but SGLI was $400,000 in my time
