How many OTers do this? Not meaning driving drunk, but maybe killing a 6 pack during a ~5 hour interstate drive while setting the cruise and jamming some tunes? Yes...it's illegal but really don't see the harm and it's one of the more relaxing feelings in the world.

I'd think 6 beers in 5 hours would keep you under the legal limit. FYI.

Nope. Never have. Risk/reward tilts in the wrong direction for me.

It was common back in the day.

Nothing wrong with having a co!d one on the way home after a hard day's work.

We are over regulated by the nanny state.

Years ago we'd do this on a road trip to Florida- but haven't done this in 25 years. Currently I wouldn't even consider this - ever

You're better off getting a ride from an uber driver. Then slapping the shite out of him when he won't take you where you wanna go.

It's really not that smart. 6 beers means 6 empties you have to deal with. I find a simple fifth of bourbon under the seat and some heroin is much more accommodating for long hauls.

Coming to the OT to justify your bad behavior is always a good idea. Good luck.

absolutely not, but mostly because i hate stopping unless i have to and drinking a 6 pack of anything would make me pee every hour or so.

I have posted that very thing and got the downvotes a rolling. I think you're trolling and don't really feel this way.

But, I absolutely love a good buzz on a 4-5 hr trip. That's about my limit. If driving to or From Dallas or farther, I'll wait a couple hours first.

Some folks don't get it.

I think most people probably do. I know when we head to the beach, I like a Bloody Mary to start the early drive and wake me up. May have 4-5 beers over the course of the next few hours, but nothing major.

exactly what came to mind in more recent years. Driving to beach with a 6 pack and a bloody.

My 40 yr old arse with a buzz and cruise control at 65 in a 70 while hugging the right lane is a frickton safer than a sober idiot driving 85 in a sports car.

Assuming you're drinking budlight you'd be cutting it pretty close in the under the legal limit category towards the end of that trip.

15 years ago we did it all the time. Nowdays you're better off diddling kids or walking down the street naked with a shotgun than drinking while driving.

Nah, usually just coffee or a energy drink. If anything I would stop and get a beer maybe 45 minuets out.
