DOT Exam Question

Do they test your eyes individually or is it done with both eyes open? I have a stigmatism that makes it nearly impossible to see out of my right eye but with both eyes open my vision is fine.

Both eyes open. And the machine will tell them if youre cheating and close an eye or close the wrong eye. I'm blind in my left eye and have tried cheating it before

Why would you close an eye if the test is done with your eyes open?

I closed an eye last time I took it. It made everything much less blurry but a bit embarrassing when I thought I was done but there was still a section I didn't see because my eye was closed.

Idk about in bama, but I just go to the oldest black lady and drawl out a "ma'am" or two. Pass every time.

Well about an hour ago I closed an eye and passed.

Yes.
They've given me 3 chances before. Just take it slow and try closing each eye and see what's best.

Both eyes or you fail, each eye has to be 20/40 or better

I did a DOT exam a few years ago. They had me go left eye first then right eye then both eyes. Who knows.
