I take up the water by 8:00 at night. They go out last about 9:30-10:00.

My 125 lb bullmastiff can hold it for a long time so the only way she wakes me up is if she has the squirts. The 30 lb puppy (6 months old) stays in a crate and only starts whining after about 8-9 hour during the night. She's gotten really good about holding it while in her kennel.

On days when I don't have to be up early for work my dog will usually get a bit whiny around 9-10am.

You should try using a treat to coerce your dog to go outside. Hold the treat in your hand and wave it in front of the dog's nose so they get a good whiff. Lead them outside then give it to them. After a week or two of this the dog should be much more eager to get up in the morning.
