Does the collective human mind have the power to change its surroundings?

All of us are like a cell in giant brain that is the entirety of humanity. Is there power in that to create physical change?
I mean, we are on the Earth and we depend on the Earth, but does it depend on us too somehow?

There is a group that has been researching this topic for years. It started in the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research Lab at Princeton University. Here is a link to the project LINK
The project boils down to researchers setting up these random number generators around the world to see if global events cause any changes in their randomness output. When a high global consciousness event, such as major terrorist attack, the researcher have found the numbers produced become less random. What does this mean who the hell knows but its kind of interesting.
