Does the 5 second rule apply to foods like ham slices?

Say you drop a slice of deli meat on the floor. Does the 5 second rule still apply?

Seems like a different scenario than dropping something like a goldfish cracker.

If a dollop of mayo dropped on the floor is it still good after 3-4 seconds?

Is it the last slice and are you hungry? Is there anything else to eat?

It doesn’t apply to anything really and it most certainly doesn’t apply to anything sticky.

For every added level of wetness you take off a second.

I think sponge cake is the baseline.

Chips and stuff, nothing that’s gonna act like a sponge and increase nastiness

Anything with a mucousy surface is finished if it hits the floor.

I think if it lands flat on the floor the rule is adjusted down to 3 seconds baw

My tolerance for floor time is extremely low when it comes to mayonnaise.

5 second rule application is determined by the stickiness of the food dropped + the dirtiness of the floor upon which the food fell

If that piece of meat is on the floor that long, I have a dead pet.

As long as it has 4 or 5 dog hairs stuck to it, it’s good to go.
