Near the river, old part of Baton Rouge, west side of city. I would say from river to I-110 is considered downtown.

In New Orleans, uptown is south and southwest from downtown . But of course it is "up" the river from downtown

From what my dad says, north baton rouge down Plank Rd was a happening place back in the 60's. He used to ride his bike to different places down plank. He and his friends rode the bus from Plank to get a shake and sneak into a movie downtown when they were 10-12.

I imagine it was close to being "uptown" but for some reason it got decimated and now looks like Haiti.

College Dr. and Campus is Mid city. Perkins Rowe and areas surrounding could potentially be considered "Uptown" If we are speaking in a relative area (like the places I'll ever frequent...frequently)

Baton Rouge, like many cities, doesn't have an area called "uptown". It until about 20 years ago never had an area designated as "mid-city". It has a downtown area and the surrounding city has always been designated or known by their residential neighborhood names. Standard Heights, Melrose, Garden District, Capital Heights and out from there.

No.

Mid City is centered around Government between 19th and Jefferson. Phil Bradys, Calandros.

i don't know the answer to this question. I do know that when Independence Park, and LSP complex was an airport, (Louisiana Aircraft) it was called the downtown airport by many. whether that has any relevance i can't say.

Martini has given the best answer so far.

Uptown New Orleans is not a literal "up"=north uptown. It is upriver from Downtown.

Mid City Baton Rouge is much bound by I110, I10, College/Foster, and Choctaw.

Lol. Uptowns are just neighborhood in different city's. There is no true definition. Baton rouges uptown is actually apart of old south Baton Rouge. The south is split into 2 regions the top and the bottom. The bottom being downtown and top being uptown. Uptown is around north/south 22 street and the bus stations. Then you enter into mid city moving farther away from downtown. Sorry that I replied 2 years to late !

No, but if it did, that would be Bocage.
