Does anyone still play paintball?

I used to play paintball when I was a kid and have been out of the sport for a while. Is paintball dead or do people still play?

There was a big outdoor paintball center near where I lived when in Florida, so I guess the answer is Yes.

I was thinking about getting back into it but I don't really want to invest much $$$ if it is on the outs.

Someone recently told me that the big paintball area where I used to play in middle and high school is still in business.
I loved it. And it was one of the big outdoor paintball areas with multiple playing fields that were dozens of acres big where teams could strategize and maneuver.
Not that 2-minute long "speedball" shite.
I need to go back there for old times sake.

Paintball Command is still open in Mandeville. They do airsoft only days.
I still have all my stuff. I'd play tomorrow if I could get a game together. It's still a lot of fun.

I played several times back in the Stone Age when you had to use a pistol that you cocked between each round. The rapid fire guns with the huge magazines make it a different game.

Us youngins have moved onto video games. We just play Halo now if we need to shoot something. Paintball is messy and it hurts. :(

Used to play at Shell Shocked in Houma when I was a teenager, but they shut down a while back.
Took up airsoft after that happened, haven't played that in years either.
