Trying to locate a relative who lives at La Plantation in Denham Springs. They evacuated sometime after 10 pm last night. Have called Red Cross, emergency lines, etc, etc, no one has information. Our cells are with At&t and no one can reach us by phone if they tried.

Some elderly care places have in the contract they won't evacuate assisted living residents.

Thanks Katrina.

I would call a list of churches in that area.

Ps. The churches seem to have a more current list of services.

Not for a more grim reason.

I've called the churches open as shelters and get their office lines or times for service messages.

I've been seeing people posting to help their relatives on the facebook pages and that seems to be a more effective way of communicating, but it really depends.

Hope you find your relatives.

This is really a tragedy.

Check with Heritage Healthcare, a good friend of mines grandparents were there as well. That's where they ended up.

What makes this so much worse is our contact info is worthless with the AT&T network down.

In case anyone else is wondering, it appears they went to heritage manner in Hammond. Evacuated in the middle of the night.

If any staff or responders are reading, we appreciate your efforts.

We heard they had about 9" or so of water. Maybe it went higher. It's a shame they ran a great place.
