Does Anyone here splice cable for a living?

I've been working as a pipelayer for a while but there's an opportunity for me to get into the career. I think it would be enjoyable but I would like your opinion on it. Also what kind of money do you make.

It can be tedious and repetitive, but it's a gravy job. You're usually in the AC doing it, inside communication cabinets. What company is it for?
