If so, what is wrong with those MFers? Can they just not walk or fly like a normal bird? Is it really necessary for them to dance everywhere they go like a bunch of assholes?

Screw aliens, these are the real questions in life that we need answers to.

Some mighty fine eating. Granddaddys bird dogs would occasionally point one while we were quail hunting.

Their waddling is part of the process by which they send out shockwaves, and then detect earthworms.

Once they get a hit, they stop and drill down with their beaks and pull out the worm. They do almost all of this at night, including their migration. They mostly just sleep during the day.

Their diet being like 100% earthworms, their shite looks like a splash of explosive diarrhea.

frickers scare the hell out of me multiple times throughout hunting season. Nothing like walking out of the woods after dark and have a woodcock take flight within feet from you

They can't dance,
They can't talk,
The only thing about them,
Is the way they walk

Yes. Great action walking and jumping them up. They fly a short distance then drop. You have to be quick on the trigger.

They taste like marsh hens, snipe and rails.

Would sometimes shoot them when rabbit hunting and they would jump up when walking in the woods.

Well, you can tell by the way I waddle my walk I'm a woodcock, no time to talk
Stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive
Whether night or bright sunny day I'm foragin', in a woodland way
Stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, staying' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive
My long bill probing the ground
Searchin' for worms that abound
Stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive

I saw them years ago in Ascension. I haven’t seen one in a long time though.

Have you ever seen a Ptarmigan in the snow?

Now that will frick you up. Your eyes catch movement but you can’t figure it out.

If you’re lucky, you can pick up a tiny black dot.

It will blink.

EDIT: sneaky fricking ptarmigans
