Does Anyone Experience ASMR?

So I've always felt this but never knew what it was called till now. I'm curious how many people get this feeling. There are many triggers that cause this feeling but it's very hard to explain to someone who doesn't feel them.
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and it refers to a phenomenon which is very difficult to explain to those that do not experience it. It is usually experienced through a relaxing tingling in the scalp and the back of the neck and can extend into the rest of the body. It is a very calming sensation that washes over you.
My wife thinks I'm crazy but at least now I know it's a thing.

Yes there was a thread on this a while back. I feel that tingle when I watch someone flip the pages of a magazine slowly.

Experienced what I assume is this. Have no idea what triggers it as it seems pretty random. Just always thought it was similar to a "chill".

as toosleaux says, there was a thread about this just a couple of weeks ago...first time I have ever heard of it...

The only other term to possibly describe it is goose bumps, yet they are all over the body.
I wonder what triggers it?

I never knew there was a name for this. Anyone have a link to the other thread?

And yeah, I've experienced ASMR my whole life. Never had a name for it until just recently.

I have never gotten ASMR smoking even hashish.
Some narcotic drugs after surgery come close but no cigar. they are more like a slow wave of- no pain.
ASMR happens to me sober.

For me it's the most peaceful relaxing feeling there is. Better than weed. Better than drinking. It's complete relaxation that I love. I seek out triggers that keep it going. Now that I've read about it I started explaining it to people and they think I'm crazy.

Sounds like 'goosies' (goose bumps) that I experience when I listen to a emotionally moving song (usually on my neck). It's a great feeling.

My trigger is styrofoam... When you're opening a new piece of electronic equipment and it's in a cardboard box covered in styrofoam and it "squeaks" when you pull it out of the box.
If fact, just thinking about it makes the hairs on my neck standup.

Some women's voices do this to me on the phone. A customer service rep or a secretary, etc. And then typing on a keyboard and I can hear it drives me more into it.

I used to save voicemails of voices that did it. I'd listen to them all in a row and get so relaxed.
Getting my ears checked at the doctor, haircuts, pedicures, massages, watching someone turn pages in a book especially if they are trying to find a certain page in a catalog, watching someone vacuum. Add a soft voice to it and it's perfect.
There are thousands of these videos on YouTube!!

No, I HATE the sound of styrofoam squeaking... Am I not playing this game correctly?

If it's what I'm thinking, I had this when I was younger. Not so much anymore
