I have a pair of running shoes I like, but they seem a little cheaply made. Therefore I untie those every time I take them off. I don't want to ruin the heels.

Since this is the OT, is it trashy to take off your shoes without untying them?
For about 25 years i did "step on the back heel and peel it off" method. After getting sick of buying new shoes every 6-8 months i started to untie them 1st. Now my shoes last 2-3 years and end up replacing them for looking dingy rather than the heel coming off.
