Do you think America will ever have another draft?
If so, who will we be fighting?
Which OT users will be dodging?

No. Technology and/or nukes will be the deciding factor if/when the U.S. is ever in another conflict. It's not about bodies anymore.

No majority of young people are pussies now a days. Go with the ones that want to serve, less people but better soldiers.

or nukes

Nukes were around for the last 2 drafts.

"ever" is such a big word. There is no telling, however, history shows that when hegemons / superpowers fall.. they almost always go out via war.

I hate when people say this. It's just not true.

Pretty soon all the boys will identify as girls. It'll be too confusing to have a draft.

I will say no. America the way it is now will not have another draft. I could see a draft if there is another civil war where states split up, but I don't see up getting heavily involved with another war enough to require that many soldiers.

We would have to get into a "real" war for it to happen

I think most of the OT Ballers have already been drafted once...

It's a false sense of the pervasiveness of technology. For one, the US military (and no one else is even 1/10th as close to us on this) doesn't have the numbers of the high-tech stuff that would enable us to totally win a war without having to engage significantly on the ground...

Second, technology, nuclear power, airpower, and naval power are utterly useless in a major war if you don't have people on the ground to go in to actually seize AND hold territory. If the last fourteen years haven't taught us that, I don't know what could.

Warfare is ultimately an exercise of subjugating/conquering/winning over/defending large groups of people, and people still live on land. I think most Americans would be absolutely shocked at how primitive combat really is, even for an American soldier and even in 2015.

Nope. There are too many benefits to having an all volunteer professional military.

Of course, having a volunteer military means that most people don't have anyone close to them that served recently. When most people don't serve, they don't know jack shite about the military and for the most part they're pretty apathetic about it. Sure everyone likes to thank the military and scream USA at football games but for the most part, no body gives a shite. They don't understand what servicemen and women go through and they definitely don't have an understanding of what they're asking them to do during times of war. Instead they like to cheer passing soldiers and marines that look good in their dress uniforms because it makes them feel good about themselves.

Sorry I went off topic

This is pretty spot on.
