I wasn't expecting that. Thanks for sharing.

Me either

British comedy is different. You have to be somewhat intelligent to understand it.

Regardless of Brit or Yank, women aren't funny. Samantha Bee should be in jail.

It depends. Both are so varied. I like Community and Seinfeld more than anything Britain has put out. However, I would put dry British humor ahead of American gross-out commedy (American Pie), stoner comedy (pineapple express), and "feminine" comedy (Amy "My Vagina" Schumer).

The Story of the Old, Empty Barn from Dad's Army. Another favorite of mine.

I agree Seinfeld was great. I'd say it's relatively low key humor has a definite British influence.

FIFY. Seinfeld is the perfect encapsulation ofJewish culture and New York culture in a 30 minute sitcom. The cadence, characters, and topics are absolutely Jewish in style.

This show had me in tears a time or two. Highly recommend a watch on Netflix.

Return of the Golden Child
The Haunting of Bill Grouse
The Final Countdown

Plus, we got tGOAT gif from that show...

And this one...

British comedy is dry but its funny once you get it

The UK version of the office and shameless are epic

a great show here is Bad Education, it might be on US Netflix.

British.

Blackadder
Peep Show
That Mitchell and Webb Look
Fawlty Towers
Are You Being Served
Little Britain
The list goes on and on

Better than most current American humour.

American comedy is too dumbed-down.

Watch The Mighty Boosh or Garth Marenghi's Darkplace and tell me this isn't the funniest thing you've ever seen.

good question. I love Monty Python. sometimes just hearing a Brit reading the phone book can be funny.

some American comedy seems to rely a lot on just cursing and shock value.
