Do you let kids play rough?

I don't think they have a good time unless they scrape their knees and get dirt under their fingernails, most kids in this country are soft.

Yep, my kid comes in just about everyday, dirty, sweaty and smelling. Damn glad he's reached the age where he knows he needs a shower and we don't have to fight him to do it.

I play tackle football with my 6 year old daughter. No pads.

I thank God regularly I didn't have girls.
ETA not because they are bad children, but I wouldn't have a clue how to raise one.

I was watching my friend's 4 year old son this weekend and him and my 3 year old daughter were playing outside.
He was chasing her acting like a dinosaur and my daughter was screaming/laughing and running away letting him chase her.
When she turned and decided to be the dinosaur, he immediately fell into the fetal position and started crying and screaming "she is scaring me! make her stop"
I felt so sorry for my friend at that moment that he was raising such a little pussy.

My son is on a little baseball team. A few kids have younger siblings that kind of hang with the bigger boys. We'll look over and they are teaching the little ones to truck each other. Love it.

Few years back I was burning some time in the French Market. These two boys...about 5 years old....were rough housing. One of them pushed the other down real hard and caused him to scrape his knees all up. The dad made the pusher put his hands behind his back and made the other one punch him in the face. I still laugh thinking about those two, neither of whom were really hurt, crying and walking around afterwards.

No way, me and mine go all out mma on a regular basis. Busy doing homework? You might get choked out. I'm just saying

I usually beat them with a hose if they play rough. There will be no hurting or violence in this house!

Neither kid was hurt. He was so scared to throw the punch. We can debate the morality of it, but me and my gf both laughed.

You gotta be kidding me... There is a difference between raising tough kids and raising psychopaths.

Yes. Used to play fight with my son all the time and let him hit me as hard as he could. At 15 he still comes up to me and gives me a good punch or shove every once in a while.

I encourage it, my son and I even put on the boxing gloves if he gets out of line or cuts class. He loves it.
