I have been pretty heavily associated with the construction industry for a good while and today, I heard a term that I have never heard in my life.

What I call a "sharpshooter" shovel is referred to as a "Bill Dookie" in some parts of the country. Have any of you ever heard this term before?

I've always understood it as taking a shite on an orphan, but I'm old school

always heard it called a sharpshooter or drain spade around the job sites. I kind of like ol' Bill Dookie better

This shovel is from the Spade family and the universal name is the Sharpshooter. This is my go-to name when the guys do not know what a Bill Dookie is. The name Bill Dookie was used for this shovel by plumbers for the obvious reason, to dig Dookie ditches.

From the modern day redneck blogspot.

Sounds like a shitty name to me. The shovel and the blogspot.
