Yep, a quick tap of the horn then a wave while heading off. Learned it from my dad. He is a master of the honking wave.

In town with close neighbors, just wave.

In the country, quick horn tap and wave. Horn signifies that it was a good visit.

Seems like something to do for kids. I don't honk, but I do the whole wave thing when leaving my sister's house if my nephew, who is a toddler, is out front. I might start using the horn for him. Seems like something that would amuse him.
