People that beg for money for a living.

Guy I saw earlier this week was checking his cellphone while holding up a sign saying he was broke and needed help.

Ever had any run ins with those people?

Yes, one was at Starbucks on Seigen when it was further down near Perkins. Dude said he needed money to go an buy food from Jack in the Box. So I walked over with him and and asked what he wanted, his response was "money" and I replied I was going to buy him a meal since that is what he requested.
He got mad that I would not give him cash and left Jack in the Box

To be fair, I would rather have cash than Jack in the Box too.

There's a woman who posts up in front of the Costco on Carrollton that I swear has been pregnant for 4 years.

This thread will go 20 pages. News flash: most beggars already are professional beggars.

When you see that guy holding an old beat-up cardboard sign at the intersection, he is almost 100% not some laid off accountant between jobs.

I pass by the same homeless people on my morning commute holding signs that say things like "on way to Seattle, ran out of gas". They imply that they are 20 bucks away from resuming their journey westward but they will be at the same place tomorrow and the next day and next month and next year.

I saw one near my office in Nashville that was CLEARLY wearing a fake pregnant belly. It was one of those things that belong under a shirt and she had it on top of her clothes and was walking around like her back hurt from being pregnant.

She must've been schizo or something like all the other ones.

I know someone who went to college in downtown Chicago 3 years ago and his professor warned the class not to give money to the beggars as recent studies showed many made over $80K per yar.

There is a guy off the Acadian exit right now begging in some fly high top adidas kicks. As far as professionals, I've never met one, but off the canal exit by lakeview there is a lady that begs there almost every day since I moved to Nola 3 years ago, guess it's working out for her.

Couple years ago guy on airline gave me some sob story about his daughter dying, needed gas to get to Texas to hospital etc. Two weeks later same guy was peddling same exact story at a different gas station.

Don't give any of them money.

Went to the neightborhood walmart a few months ago and was approaached while walking to my car by an older black lady

"Do you know were SI-Gaan lane is?"

You mean siegan? yes its that way

"Do you think I can walk from here to there?"

I wouldnt reccommend it, its a very far walk

"Hmm well I ran out of gas and i left my infant child in the car over there and i need a ride over there, can you give me one?"

Uhh you probably shouldnt have done that, sorry but ive entertained this long enough, ive got to go

----fast forward about a month or so ago, I go into the same walmart real late at night, and whenever i came out rain started POURING down, so I tried to wait out the rain a little bit underneath the walkway and some old lady says something about the rain being crazy and i said yeah

next thing she says "You know how to get to SI-gaaan lane??"

i just went "youve got to be kidding me lady" and just jogged thru the rain

The good ones are cyber begging on GoFundMe.

I read that something like 80% of the things on Gofundme were fake or at least were questionable.

yeah, i've told the story on here

there is a white guy, no older than 35, who is the leader of the shite bums in downtown st.louis.

He has pieces of paper with names of places for them to go and beg, and places that will give them day old food, bread, etc.

They meet under the highway, and he hands them papers, then they go on their ways. They give him a cut, and he keeps them fed, boozed, etc.

I was waiting for a eatery to open, and watched the shite go down.

It was like a Bum union, and he was the Union leader.

I was riding the train into Paris from the airport and a guy started at the front of car handing out business cards that had Please give me a few written in French on one side and English on the other side. After picking up his Euros, he went front to back and picked his cards back up.

How timely a post! Just today, while walking in the Hoover, Alabama Galleria, a deaf guy approached me and squeaked that the was deaf. He showed me a card with a note about being deaf, God Bless you, and how about some moolah. He was about 30, black, 6'1 or 2, 175 to 185, gray Auburn t shirt and blue Auburn cap, shorts and kicks. He was athletically built. I was there at 11am and saw him walk in as he nodded to me. I had lunch and went back to the Galleria to check another sale and That's when he targeted me. I said Bless you and moved on. I was talking to a department store employee who yelled Roll Tide at him and I said he is deaf and can't hear you. Store employee said the deaf guy has worked the Mall are for 4 years at about 4 hours a day and could definitely hear him yell Roll Tide.

He must get more $ doing that than working a job.
