You only upvote your own after someone else already has. But you must do it immediately, otherwise people will believe you are your own only upvote.

I'm not bothered by it. Just find it to be pathetic that there are people who have nothing better than to go through multiple pages of threads just to give a stupid, meaningless downvote.
I've seen threads where I'll have been posting for a while get to several pages and then all of a sudden every post I've made starts getting a downvote. How sad of a loser do you have to be to take the time to do that? I know they think they're bothering me but really all they do is make me feel sorry for them and lets me know I rustle their Jimmies on a daily basis.
