Do you find it more productive to work on your own flaws and issues or on other peoples'?

I can see both sides. But then again, I'm pretty damned great so I don't have that many things to work on.

I once had a client who after I built his website, and he got it, decided to tell paypal he didn't get it and after paypal sided with me in the dispute becuase, well.. i delievered the site, he called his CC company and filled another chargeback. I ended up losing $991 dollars on a site I haqd built
The guy really has no idea how close he came to having his e ntire world turned upside down, but when I was honest with myself, I knew he was a shite client before I took his first payment, and took it anyway, so why am I getting mad at him for being exactly what I knew he was in the first place?
Most people refuse to own the decisons they make,. because at the time they saw some short term benefit in making that decison, when in reality they knew it was a bad decison.
I say that to say I'm an intrapsective person. I'm the type of dude that if a woman cheats on me, I go back to see what part I played in it and more times than not, if not every time I knew she was a skank I was just happy she was my skank at the time and over looked ovbious flaws in someone I was taking seriously

I'm the type to judge others and then realize that I exhibit the same types of behaviors that I am judging.

I knew an older doctor, probably retired now, that was a gastric bypass surgeon ... and he was fat himself. He wasn’t in need of a bypass, but he was easily 100 pounds overweight. Someone asked him about that at a Christmas party and his response was that while he knew exactly what his patients needed to do to fix their lives, he just never had the motivation to get himself in shape.

There's only one side. You can't change others, and you are the only one who can change yourself. You can influence others, but in the end the actual change starts with oneself.

It's more helpful to work on my own flaws, but more satisfying to work on other people's, since it requires less introspection and effort on my part.
