I don't feel like pulling cylinder heads off just to wipe it down. It's fine

Looks like the Friday afternoon crowd is getting ready for the evening. Maybe I’ll ask again on a Wednesday morning.

You think people are taking their engines apart to clean them?

Every couple months I will take some dawn dish soup and dilute it with a little bit of water... Then Pour it all over the engine and into the different containers. Then get an old tooth brush and some steel wool and really get after those trouble areas.. it will get better the more you do it.

I am gonna guess he means the inside of the engine compartment. Otherwise this is just crazy.

And no, no I don't.

Ah, yes, good clarification. I just meant wiping down under the hood.

Soapy microfiber cloth every time I wash my truck (once a week) I just wipe it dry after that. No water at all.

You know, I keep a clean car but I've never really paid much attention to the engine bay, beyond maybe routing wires neatly during some kind of repair or custom build.

I have a nissan.

Means prone to leaks but well sealed electrical.

Once a month I degrease, then pressure wash from a few feet away so its low pressure.

260k miles and perfectly clean.
