I usually just select “decline to answer”. I don’t want to tell them if I’m a man or woman, white or another race, a veteran or not, etc. on the job applications.

They say it doesn’t affect your application in any way, but I don’t believe that for a second during the era of DEI. Why the hell would they even ask for that information if they’re not using it to screen people and meet their quotas for DEI?

I, for one, never pass up an opportunity to let a potential employer know I'm a straight white male.

If me putting that I'm a white man on an application causes me to not get the job, then it's a job I don't want.

If I see this on a resume, I'm probably going to note a potential "red flag" TBH

I’ve heard that not answering is an immediate disqualification in some HR screening processes. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

I don’t mix politics with a paycheck so I answer all the questions and don’t send a message I’m going to be difficult to deal with.

I remember the good old days when an employer couldn't ask such questions because it might look like discrimination

I recently didn't get a job I applied for.
Then found out someone else in my company got it. Someone with far far less experience than me. Someone who didn't know what the hell she was doing. Someone without a recommendation.

Can you guess what 2 qualifications she had that I did not?

90% of the time your name is a dead giveaway to your gender and race. And they can deduce your age from your employment history and graduation dates. You aren't fooling anyone so why bother trying.

And even if you do "fool" them on the initial screening, eventually they are going to see you

Not answering makes zero sense and just puts of red flags for drama IMO

That’s why I named my Asian daughter “Kavontrius”. Gonna throw some HR folks and admissions departments for a loop.

Not necessarily. Probably 90% of employers don’t care if you’re a straight white male

Different if you’re applying to Google or Apple or Target

That's because it is discrimination. There is absolutely no logical defense of it. It's racism and sexism in its purest form.

I mean let's be real, most of this is brought on by liberal white women who infest and dominate the most useless and pointless occupation on the planet...Human Resoruces. Human Resources is almost 100% dead weight. They produce nothing of value. I'm almost positive that the only reason it was ever developed in the first place was so companies could say they hired some women to break glass ceilings and all that frivolous nonsense. The problem is HR has gained so much power and influence. I mean, why is HR even sitting in on interviews? If I'm hiring an engineer or pilot or doctor or any other type of professional what in the actual frick could an HR chick with no relevant skills or knowledge bring to the table? It's insanity.
