just worried alot will have same main ingredient and she will seize again. Last one was real bad. But hasnt had one since, now its time for a pill and im anxious

If I were you I would probably go to a different vet and get a second opinion on the whole situation.

Even still I would change the heart worm prevention medicine for at least some peace of mind. I like Trifexis because it's heartworm + fleas

Maybe, but again, I have no clue. I'd get a second opinion like that Bama guy says.

just get some ivomec in liquid form. It's like 15 bucks for a years worth. Just squirt it in their mouth and you'er good to go, no side effects from my experience if done properly.

"Trifexis is a monthly, chewable tablet for dogs that kills fleas, prevents heartworm disease, and treats and controls adult hookworm, roundworm and whipworm infections. Trifexis combines two trusted active ingredients to provide protection for your dog against these three kinds of dangerous parasites."

My dogs think it's a treat....makes it easy

We use trifexis as well. Dog hates the taste and will only eat them inside of a pill popper treat covered with cheese

This is what I use. I put it in her food on the first day of the month. Never had any issues.

Mine hates it. I have to pretty much starve her where she has no choice but to eat the food that has the ground up pill in it.

I used to hide it in things, but she spits it out and eats whatever I hid it in, so now I have to grind it. PITA

If your dog is heart worm negative, go to grecos and get a bottle of heart worm drops. I want to say it is diluted ivermectin. It works well and does NOT cause zieurez.

My 3 month old is on Advantage Multi which came highly recommended by a very trusted vet of mine. Easy to apply and haven't seen any negative side effects yet.

They reopened as grecos 2.

You can get the dilution ratio online if they don't sell it anymore.

We use antibiotics and what not from tractor supply. Get the dosage right and they work great.

Just find what works for you, it may be trifexis, it may be something else. Comfortis is another spinosad similar to Trifexis. Don't stop giving heartworm medicaiton though.

Watch your dog carefully after the first time you give them the new medication, Trifexis and similar meds can cause severe reactions including death.

Has anyone else dealt with actual heartworm treatment?

Our vet gave us a couple of options but just wondering what experience others have had
