By no means am I saying the Govt is great and has never done absolutely terrible things...but is it the easy thing to just repeat the social media talking points you hear so you don't have to think about the real world?

Think about this...the crazy crackpot stuff Alex Jones was spouting a decade ago that most everyone (including me) dismissed and laughed at...
Half that crap is turning out to be true. Same was true about the stuff in the decades before that people said was ridiculous...then the government comes out decades later and says "yeah...most of that was true"

Conspiracy theories are the new facts.
But for real, the term has been totally co-opted. Many of the things that people call conspiracy theories, are just true stories they want to taint with a negative connotation so people don't believe them.
Actual conspiracy theories, as the term was used 30 years ago, were rarely true. Today, probably at least 50-50.
