By lying if they have to

Not really. If they knew where a gator was, they'd capture it. So while not being forthcoming about every lake in Florida having gators, they aren't lying by saying they don't know of any.

Would any other park take a different stance in a similar location, except Gator World?

But the sign is telling them to lie, if one was seen. In other words, if there are verified reports of a gator, respond "not that we know of"

I mean that's fair, but what difference does it make? If I was an employee and saw one, I'd obviously alert management but why make customers panic. Now if there's one like 10 feet away from me, yea I'm not gonna do that and I'd make sure to keep customers away. The park has been open how many decades now and how often has something like this happened? Don't cause panic, let people have peace of mind.

OK you reported to authorities at Disney. I understand not wanting to cause panic, so you don't get on a Blowhorn and announce it to all the customers. But since you've seen one and a family asks if you know of any gators or have seen any in the lake, according to the sign you respond " not that we know of". Kid gets mauled by said gator. I don't imagine that would fly well in court .
