Directv PSA: Just called for discounts and got free RZ channel

I dont really need Sunday ticket but always wanted redZone channel, yet they didn't offer it by itself
When I called today to renew some expiring discounts, they offered me the RedZone channel free or the ST max for half off.
I went with the RedZone channel
Just a heads up for the directv football fans.

You serious? I literally called last week and they told me they did not offer redzone channel by itself.

Make sure to keep an eye on when the free trial expires. That happened with my year of free HBO and Sunday ticket once it renewed my bill tripled.

i tried to do that when like cbs was out and tried to negotiate the playboy channel

No problems with reception here. Main reason I keep directv though is because I can take my extra box and dish with us when we go to the camp

I've never paid for RZ channel. Called every year for the last 5 and got it for free. I even got the whole Sunday ticket free one year ($30 charge a month with a $30 monthly bill credit). Mention something about being a loyal customer and how them giving new customers free shite is insulting.

I recently called and got free Sunday Ticket Max (that makes 4 out of 5 years free), $30 off a month for 12 months, 3 free months of HBO and new equipment. It was a good haul.

I need to call and get ours reduced, but we will be moving to KC at the first of the year and will probably be switching to Google Fiber once there, so don't want to have to pay fees to break contract.

According to their website and most CSR's, RZ cannot be had standalone

Every time I call for discounts they deny me. I'm sure I know why....
They keep notes in their system about every custumers call log, so I'm sure my history shows I have been an irate a-hole a time or two. I'm trying to re build my good guy status.

Yeah, I have a new genie coming too. My 3 year old one has gotten really slow and laggy
