i think dish is a good option. much better than any cable company. i just prefer directv. lot more sports channels. Their one hang up is this watch espn thing. If it gets done then to me its not question DTV for my preferences.

not at all. the thread is about asking if anyone has heard anything about directvs so-called ongoing negotiations with disney.

its clearly stated in the original post.

As of right now they're still negotiating the ESPN/Disney contract still. One sign that it is getting close to being done is Channel 677 is in test phase with the Longhorn Network being the content planned for this channel. This indicates that things are in the works to finalize the deal. Channels being tested can last from a couple of days to months so who knows. With the Longhorn network being placed on channel 677 I would speculate that it will be a regional sports network available to TX area subscribers in a regular package and in a sports package to out of area subscribers.

Thanks. I have another question that just came to me.

611-1 is supposed to be sec-alternate. Twice this year (one of them being last week) a game ran over and the scroll said Ole Miss/A&M (last weeks example) can be seen on sec-alternate.

But that channel is completely black. Anyone know what the deal is here?

The AT&T buyout of Direct TV is supposed to be completed this month. Maybe they will offer it after the deal is done.

Can't really help you there but someone at Directv or ESPN is screwing up.

The Disney/DTV agreement doesn't expire till the end of 2014. With the way Disney is packaging it's channels I would expect that there is zero chance of this getting done until then.

DTV will cave to Disney in 2015 as they can't risk losing ESPN. So expect a rate increase next year, however I bet watch ESPN is included in new deal.

Exact thing happened to dish this year
