I’m sure a lot of you may have experienced this at some point, but how many of you had a time where you lived paycheck to paycheck? What was life like for you during that time? How were you able to get out of that cycle?

Yes.
I remember only having $20 in my bank account after paying bills. Would hold bills until my paycheck hit and then mail them.
$5 Little Caesars pizza was a big treat at the time.

Sure.
Just keep working, get raises, promotions, start off on your own. Work hard and at least semi-smart and you will get past that if you also live frugally.

not really. my parents helped me in college and i had a couple thousand saved up upon graduation. once my signing bonus cleared, i never had to worry about being able to pay a bill on time or anything like that .

Wasn’t bad learned how to budget good and how to be thrifty at times.
Was still able to take kids to Disney every other year and also on weekend trips here and there.
Less eating out and more cooking at home. Didn’t own the latest I-phone every year.
Drove a 10 year old car but ex wife always had a new car every 4 years or so
It’s was mostly learning what was needed over what was desired

I think most people probably did when they were young.

When I was in Egypt's land.

right when i got married. wife (no pics) and i were making about 60k gross, combined. she moved into my apt. we paid rent, utilities, insurance, her lease payment, and groceries and had about $20 left over every 2 weeks. Prayed to God we didn't have an emergency. But we swore we'd never use a CC. Here we are 11 years later, doing really well, she stays at home with the kids and we are debt free minus the house. Thankful for the hard times early on. Made us appreciate where we are today and not take it for granted.
TL;DR- yes, but not anymore. made us thankful for where we are now

Yes, when I was on active duty with the Army.

Yes. It was stressful, but would have been worse if I had a wife and kids.
It taught me a valuable lesson about saving money and avoiding debt.

Unless you’re born to wealthy parents I assume everyone has at least early on.
I was young, single, and didn’t care or notice. Just kept working and advancing. Woke up one day with real money in the bank account. The trick is to keep living and spending like you’re broke. That way you don’t stay broke.

When my wife and I first were married sure, not so much anymore. Though we're probably not awfully far off at times.

My wife and I had a mortgage and 2 kids in daycare when I was in my 20s. We didn't have any money for years.
