I'm too young at 25 to know, but how big a thing was Blondie?

Big deal when they were at their apex. I was never a big fan.

I was a fan, but worship carries it way too far.

She was Madonna before Madonna was a thing. Basically.

I say 4, at best.

Saw a couple of her videos the other day and wondered the same thing. Very sexy.

I wouldn't say she was ever worshiped, but they were a damn popular group...

Debbie Harry was definitely beautiful (albeit in a vapid way), but I've always preferred Stevie Nicks from that time period.

For the New Wave idiots that wore buttons of their favorite bands, Blondie was big. Worship is too strong of a word, young People weren't as weak minded back then.

We get it, you're 35+. That's not our fault.

I was more a Chrissie Hynde and Pretenders fan myself. Blondie came out with that horrid song "Rapture"

It's the truth and probably is our fault for not whipping kids like you more.

Fair enough, buddy. To each his own.

Madonna is a bad joke now, but it's impossible to overstate her iconic status in the eighties.

Blondie had several hits, but they were an underground group for a long time before they ever became popular. Youtube has some shows of theirs from the mid seventies. Debbie Harry was nearly forty at the apex of her career.

Blondie had their moment. Essentially a band for people that wanted to like the underground but didn't really like underground music.

Weird considering they were raised by women who would literally weep and pass out at the sight of Elvis or the Beatles
