Did any group of people try and overtake the attacker?

Haven't read everything. Yes, I know some will get killed by doing that but still seems like a better option then hiding in the bathroom. Not judging, just asking.

Not that I know of. Keep in mind- nightclubs are dark. Most probably didn't even know where the dude was.

They were in different places. It is not being an internet badass. That is the recommendation. Either get out or attack. It is attacking by numbers, not one versus one.

Yeah, no guy is going to go after a mass murderer spraying bullets in a dark nightclub. It's pretty insulting to the victims to think if you and your buddies were there that you would have taken him down and been national heroes.

Thanks, Johnny Badass. I'm sure with your presence, everyone would have had the courage to take this guy down. More likely you're not going to be thinking that clearly at 2:00 AM being shot at in a panic mode drunk at a nightclub and run with everyone else.

I read that too this morning. He was texting his mom and she hadn't heard from him for almost a day after the shooting. They updated the article that he was killed. Pretty heartbreaking story.

I saw a young survivor late last night on some news channel give by far the best interview I've seen by someone who was there. He said a couple of things that were intersting(and horrible). He said the lights went out right after the gunfire began and they couldn't see where he was. They also said he never spoke, except for on the phone, briefly. So they couldn't hear him either. Said it was only gunfire and empty cartridges hitting the ground.
This particular guy was hiding in a stall with about 20 people, some just laying on top of the mass of huddled people. I think they could only see by the lights of their cellphones. Apparently some guy ran toward hem trying to escape and he followed him and shot him. Then went into the bathroom to see if anybody was in there. That's when they started pleading for their lives, begging "Please don't kill us! We haven't seen you. We haven't even heard your voice. Please just let us go." Then he said he sees dude's arm come over the top of the stall and made 2 sweeps, mowing them down. Most died, but some survived that stall with "only" being shot. I think this guy was shot twice in the stomach area. Terrifying.
