lol look at small government conservatives thinking it is the role of government to subsidize large media companies, even though they hate you.

This is why nobody takes you seriously.

It is strange that every year Nunguesser goes after the same event and gets shot down. He proposed hosting it from Gretna one year.

I like Gretna, but holy shite.

Use the 500k for something better.

Puerto Rico

Took cruise out of San Juan.
Area near terminal was nicer and much cleaner than N.O downtown/FQ.

Ran in historic areas of San Juan. Much cleaner than N.O.

Areas just outside were absolute shitholes. But, I think wherever they'd do NYE would be pretty nice and well kept.

Remove all the crime infested areas you are referencing and Louisiana is still top 3 for violent crime in the US per capita.

Source, trust me bro.

The only irrefutable fact is that you're trying like hell to blame anyone but your people for the shite show that is the crescent city. Congrats on keeping nola shitty

Yeah, because there isn't a source that is easily referenced.

I blamed Nunguesser for not landing this event yet again and blaming New Orleans for it and not his shitty planning. I didn't blame anyone for the state of New Orleans.

Latoya was able to get Dick Clark Productions here after they passed on Nunguesser's plan. Billy got shown up by Latoya. That is how stupid he is.

Good. New Years Eve is the most overrated night of the year other than Valentines night

Plus there’s a pretty big bowl game New Years Day so I don’t the city will really skip a beat

I honestly doubt a television production crew would worry about “crime” while filming one evening in the second largest tourist spot in the town.

They can hire police/security and be fine. Unless….they cannot hire police due to their low numbers.

It probably came down to cost. Lack of incentives and high cost of security.

100 percent due to lack of incentives being provided.

That's the only reason they came here in the first place, and we are easily replaceable with another city that will offer incentives.

IB Freeman is doing a celebratory dance right now.

I really wonder how many tourists came here just for the 15 min worth of tv spots over the course of the night.

The sugar bowl hurts (like all of the other NY6) when it's not a semifinal, but this year it is, and there half a million texas fans looking for tickets. We won't have any issues filling the hotels this year.

This might have actually been a smart move by Billy, to not pay for something we don't really need this year.

Seriously. Who gives a frick?

The city is already booked with concerts and parties. They will still do a ball drop and fireworks

Frenchman St, the Quarter and Uptown will be crawling with locals, Washington and Texas Fans.

Hotels, bars and restaurants won’t even notice Dick Clark isn’t in town

This is a big nothingburger
