The only accurate thing you mentioned is the road construction. Everything else is complete and utter bullshite.

There isn’t a single part of baytowne that is run down. Destin commons is nice, and are you really complaining that retail stores close at fricking 7 pm at night.

You sound like a miserable fricking human

I moved to NWFL in 1988. Destin still had a fishing village vibe..... the harbor was more accessible and had homes and small bars and restaurants. Harry T's was about the biggest building it seemed like...

by the late 90s, my opinion was Destin was "over-priced, over-crowded and over-rated".

Feel somewhat the same about 30A....

Off season is the best time to go that way....

Guess what all these places have in common…

They have a beach. Lean into that and they’ll always be ok

I once hit a 60 ft no-looker at the boshamps back beach cornhole set, with witnesses.

I hope that helps.

Because you're all over the place with your bullshite story.

First you said your "beach house" (located on the bay) has been on the market for "5 months"

You then mentioned the HS in Destin was a "private school for rich kids" and immediately another poster pointed out to that Destin HS was public opened in '21...a place that you were seemingly unaware of.

Been going to Destin since 1990 and my Brother and Sister both have vacation homes down there along with my mother living down there over 15 years.Needless to say,I'm all to familiar with the area and have seen multiple changes over the years but nothing remotely close to your rambling, bullshite OP and been frequently over the last year.

Thought the same thing the last time I visited a couple of years ago. Same demographic as Carnival cruise line. My family and I were the only people out of hundreds on the beach without a tattoo.

Lived there for 10 years. Moved from there a year ago. Had to make a quick trip there this past week. The place has really gone downhill in a year since I was last there.

I counted 8 regular restaurants closed down. The roads are filthy with litter, all of the buildings look like they haven't been painted in 10 years. The medians all turned to weeds or no grass at all, the road construction is still not 100% completed on Hwy98. The water park looks awful. That place is such a shithole ripoff

Went over to the outlet mall and could not believe all of the stores closed at 7pm on a Thursday evening? What kind of shite is that?

Then, went over to Destin Commons and it was a depressing ghost town and looked very run down.

Boshamp Oysters (my favorite oysters of all times) - They are actually called Oysters Boshamps used to be $19.99 for a dozen, they are now $37 fricking dollars for the same dozen? WTF.

Harborwalk looked really ran down. The town just doesn't look very nice like it once did.

Now, of course the beaches are still beautiful and I will always love the Destin Harbor, but that 15 year old Mayor kid needs to step the frick up and clean up the town. It has turned to complete shite since he became Mayor of what was once a very nice little beach town. My beach house property is losing its value while sitting in that shithole while he is mayor.

It just looked to me that Destin is really struggling. All of the bullshite nickel and diming that I saw on my short visit was depressing.

This kid needs to step up

Bro you obvisiously are trolling and you suck at it. Destin is not rundown, your condo is not losing its value, and people are overpaying for real estate and condo rentals. That place is booming in the summer and spring. Destin is definetely not struggling.

One thing ive noticed is more and more hotels going up which leads to more trash staying in Destin. Yes i said trash because thats what it is.

It took a major downturn during the pandemic when all the trashy people from all over the South were getting paid more to do nothing than they did when they were working. They were flowing into Destin big time. At one point the city completely ran out of marlboros.

Yep all that stimulus money people got they went straight to Destin.

And right into the property owners pockets and local economy. It was a record setting rental year for us.

Yeah we can. The ghetto leaking into Destin is starting to ruin it like they (black ghetto folks) who ruin everything because the white man can’t have nice things they can’t have access to.

Crucify me for telling the truth.

In Baton Rouge alone:
Mall? Ghetto
Bowling alleys? Ghetto
Downtown BR? Ghetto
Olive or twist? Ghetto
Top golf? Ghetto
Siegen lane? Ghetto

They ruin everything. It’s just truth.

It's been like that since 2020. Crazy that's it's still that way, but those stores have been struggling to get employees

It’s always been a problem there and plenty of other similar places. The economy needs low wage workers but low wage workers can’t afford to live there. It’s a prosperity problem.

ETA does anyone remember the days when the outlet mall was full of foreigners who were being put up at local cheap apartments for peak season?
