Friend of mine just came home, found house broken into and all presents stolen. It can get worse. ;-)

Christmas eve 2011 was worst ever

Same for me, Dec 16th 2011, was diagnosed with cancer, had right eye removed on Dec 22 in Philly. I kicked cancers arse.

As it turned out, I faced my fears, and came out much stronger, it taught me to appreciate life, and look at the good in every situation.

One thing that helped me more than anything was when I told a friend, " all I can think about is dying of cancer, and leaving my family behind" He said, " I'll share a secret with you, you are not your mind, just the poor SOB that listens to it, now cheer up"

Nothing get's me down for very long anymore, thoughts can screw you up if you entertain the negative 1s. We do have a choice in what we think about, and can change it anytime.

Man up. Men this generation are a bunch of wimps back in the day men were men. Today men get their dicks sliced in half and the balls cut off and wear wigs... Patheric

Thanks Funky. Your problems are just as real and important. I hope you have some relief from your depression and have the best holiday possible.

Anybody else? Just have a lot of unfortunate shite going on in my life right now that I know I will eventually overcome, but right now I'm doing a lot of self-loathing, and its giving me the Christmas blues. Sucks

Hope you feel better soon, Funky.

Ever since I was a kid for some reason I found Christmas time to be a melancholic season. Now, as a 63 year old, it's still the same even though I know that I have a lot for which to be thankful.

Hang in there it will be the New Year soon. Merry Christmas!

It could always be worse. Perspective helps in these episodes. Power through and lean on the people that care about you.

Funky i wish you the best during the Holidays and everyday of the year. If you are suffering the blues from depression over a family problem or spat, i say suck it up and call who ever you have the problem with and take one for the team and say whats on your heart. Don't be afraid to apologize or say you were wrong. Or even accept defeat.
If your blues are from losing a loved one, take a walk and have a talk with that person as if they were there.

If none of that works for your blues during the holidays... i say dig out some of your favorite classic Rock CD's (no christmas music) and crank it up. Get the blood flowing. Music works. Find the right tunes. Brah

It could be worse.

Imagine you're a Siamese twin.

Your brother is gay. You are not.

Your brother's boyfriend is coming over. The two of you only have one butt.

Or, you are were a Siamese twin with a girl, and she was a hot lesbian. And her girlfriend was coming over tonight. That might cheer you up some.

I'm watching my son and the other boys do fireworks. They're having fun. Maybe you should go get some

What's better than saying ooh ahh at pretty explosives fifty times in a row?

I have spent many a Christmas in some shithole where people wanted to kill me. I have spent a couple of Christmases cold, with little to eat and certainly no presents to give or get. Life is tough, but as long as you still have it, you have a chance.

Tomorrow get up and go do something nice for someone. Take the time to make your life count and do not get down over the things you cannot change.

Sorry to hear man, I'm with you. This one is a weird Christmas. My advice? Watch some Bill Burr and if you can, smoke a bowl. Cynical humor always gets me. Avoid alcohol. Good vibes to you man, it's all gonna work out.

Or lay around and wait for someone to do something nice for you?

Maybe Paige will make the rounds giving out Christmas BJ's tomorrow? You never know.
