I always thought you guys were the most jealous of the Ol War Skule, but OohLaLaa taks the cake. Of course, we have a ton of Techies around here, and not many ULL grads.

Anyone find out how much less? You make LSU Alumni look bad. It's "couldn't care less" dipshit.

That's the deal, I don't want to have to physically work hard to make a living. It's cold out there and I'd much rather sit in my office and decide what those guys do instead of doing it.

Be careful what you wish for. I use to be one of the guys out in the field and now other than the occasional visit to a customer's jobsite, I sit at a desk. It does have it's advantages (like the last few days for example) but it also sucks to be stuck in a office the majority of the time.

And for the record, I never went to college. I'm proof that it is (or at least it was when I took this position years ago) possible to not go to college and still get a high paying desk job.

I went to ULL. I don't give a shite either way. It is sort of amusing how this board focuses so much on this issue though.

Same here, saw Jake Delhomme throw his first pass.

I was offered a free ride to LSU and let my best friend talk me into USL. Wouldn't have mattered though, would have flunked out in 3 semesters anyway, which is what I did at USL.

Not only that...it's tough to claim you "don't care" when you start a thread about it.

The correct phrase is: "I could NOT care less". Why do so many people not know that? When you say "I could care less", it means you at least care some and maybe a lot.

That is true. I was in armor which is sort of similar to earth moving heavy equipment. The fact I was in the army only got my foot in the door (I started out in out Shipping Dept making $5.50 per hour). After that it was on the job experience that I used to advance. Now this was mostly in the mid to late 90's and this company was (and still is somewhat) at that time very much old school in that they place a greater weight on experience than a piece of sheep skin. That has changed a good deal though. I'm pretty sure had I started out 10 years later than I did, I never would make it to where I am.

Will probably be with reike.. Prepare yourself for boredom.

You should take exploration geophysics if it's still available, supposed to be a good class and I'll be in it.

I am pretty much you, except I got laid off at one point. Trying to get back to where I was has been next to impossible, although I'm in the running for a position right now with a mom and pop. I have a decent job now, but I'm still over $20k from where I used to be. I'm also completely dead ended because I don't have the piece of paper they want. Any major company or gov't organization has minimum requirements that won't get you past HR if you don't meet them, they'll never even look at your resume.

Still going to take a while to build the program there. ULL has been well known for computer science for quite some time.

If all those undergrad courses listed are actually offered on a regular basis, it's hard to argue with you there...I would've been in propeller-head heaven with some of those.
