I agree with Artie Rome, we as a civilized country should not engage in putting anyone to death. Death is not our place in society to decide. Especially considering that the drugs required for the "humane" execution are increasingly hard to come by and several attempts have been botched as of late.
It is also of my opinion that giving anyone the death penalty is but a reprieve for them. Its giving them the easy way out.
Lastly, there is little the death penalty does to deter any type of terroristic or criminal behavior, so what the frick are we really doing here?

Even pussy arse France still has the Guillotine for high crimes like this, don't they?
I prefer a properly done hanging, though. Quick, clean, educational.

Abolish the death penalty.

No thank you. Seeing someone die, no matter how terrible they were a human being, just doesn't appeal to me.

Do you really think someone who would blow up a marathon has any sense of remorse? People like him are too far gone in my opinion.
He's been indoctrinated to want death and hope for it. Denying him of that would've given him something he wouldn't know how to deal with.
I'm fine that he is going to be put to death. In cases of extreme Islam, however, it is the ultimate goal, and we are basically giving him his wish. The Chechens will hail him as a martyr.
He may not have shown any remorse during the bombing, but everyone has a breaking point, and he would have reached his in only a few short years in Supermax. Still, I'm also happy that his amount of time left alive is limited.

I don't get this attitude. I know the common defense is that some innocent people get put to death, but in an easy to prove case like this and others, why the hell not? If anything, I think we coddle them too much up until they are put to death. People on death row that have been proven beyond any reasonable doubt aren't humans IMO.
They have zero respect for others and life so why should we respect theirs? Might be small-minded of me I guess.
Now I do fear this makes him a martyr but oh well.

Only if we're talking about Indians and blacks.

now i would pay $100 to watch that shite

That's going to happen regardless of what we do to him.

Including the ones that are later exonerated?

I'll agree with this. There are much worse things than death.

Personally I wish they drew a lottery on who got to extinguish the sumbitch.

That is one issue I have, the other is I don't believe the state has the authority to kill it's own citizens or those here on visas, no matter how fricked up those individuals are.
I don't usually use slippery slope arguments, but I've also seen people advocating the death penalty for non-murder crimes too, which really worries me.
